I really demand some help with what to do here. Im am well-nigh 36 weeks pregnant and my normally very agile baby hasnt really moved at all today.
I have drunk countless amounts of water to brand sure im not dehydrated and had a long bath nearly an hour and a one-half ago, which got me my first movement of the day. Since then though i have simply felt a couple of very weak movements.
I saw my Midwife yesterday and babys heartbeat was fine so really dont want to call and go into the motherhood ward to be checked if im simply being silly. (plus im shattered so could do with out the trip)
I know infant is running out of room in in that location merely my little 1 doesnt seem to have quiet days and i expected movement to slow non cease all of a sudden from lack of room!
Assistance please what should i do for the best??

ring maternity ward and speak to mw. I posted like last week, but only later on a morning of not much movement and was rightly ticked off from fellow concerned mumsnetters who asked what i was waiting for? Everything was fine with me and certain information technology is with you but i wouldn't wait over night, ring now ten

speak to midwife and go to be monitored if they think information technology appropriate. Better safe than sorry.
Although babies may non kick as vigourously yous should exist able to feel wriggling.

Get some actually cold water and water ice cubes down you. I had the same thing happen and thats the first thing the midwife got me to practise. I would telephone call your midwife besides

they'll suggest putting a tracing on, they go out information technology for about 20-30 mins, not only checks for a heartbeat but also monitors the pattern. That's what they did for me and I was so pleased I went, and would be put off going again x

Band MW and in the mean time drink icecold h2o or Milk. Babe should exist annoyed by the common cold and motion. Also endeavour some Chocolate as manifestly the carbohydrate gives them a chip of a heave to start wiggling
Permit usa know how y'all get on.

Orangish juice and lying on your side for one-half an 60 minutes might kickoff it...I would hold nigh getting checked x

I tried chocolate earlyer but that dint work, and some of the water i have been drinking is fridge cold!!!
I tried lying on my side but unfortunatly fell asleep as im knacked!!!!
TwinklyfLightAttendant Wed 12-Dec-07 xviii:43:33
It tin can't injure to go and get checked over, then...I promise everything is fine and baby is only having a duvet day!

I have had some iced water and managed to get some other wriggle out of baby, plus hubby blew a rasberry on my abdomen and baby jumped rather massively (poor thing).
Practice you retrieve i should still call the Midwife every bit that is about four/5 small movements know???

Yes definitely call them - stop reading and do information technology. You should be getting x movements a day.

This happened to me with DS1. I had been given a boot chart, and had to marking off at least 10 kicks a day. This was commonly complete ny 8.30am!! (very active baby) 1 twenty-four hours, he all of a sudden stopped kicking. I had 3 kicks i day, one the next. Equally it happened, I was going in to await around the motherhood unit, I mentioned my bloated ankles and lack of move by the baby. My BP was through the roof - yes, pre-eclampsia! Sorry to scare you, just I would go this chekced out now! My baby was built-in two days after by emergency C section at 32 weeks.
Ring the midwife now and insist on being monitored.

Hi,
I went in to be checked and infant is fine, but still wasnt active, so was told if still no movement past friday to go back. But by the time i got home it had woken up and rewarded me only wedging its feet nether my ribs as i tried to slumber!!!!!
Cheers for the support, i just hope the next few weeks go smoothen at present as i hate being a hassle!!!!!!

That'southward slap-up news and I absolutely think you did the right think by being checked. How tin you mayhap be existence a hassle - the midwives spend X hours at work in one shift and it doesn't matter who they intendance for in those hours. Information technology was a totally valid reason for going in and I'k sure they told you lot that themsleves
callmeoverchristmas Thu 13-December-07 11:52:05
That'south good news! I call back anybody has a few panics throughout their Pregnancy but you can never be too careful.
PutThatInYourPipeandSmokeIt Thu thirteen-December-07 16:29:21
No that's correct and I panic through everyone elses!!
jinglebeller Thu 13-Dec-07 18:12:52
glad everything was ok didsnbump..i take had a very quiet mean solar day today with babybel, and im 38 weeks tomorrow...off to potable some ice cold water and lie on my side for 1/two 60 minutes before calling MW!! 20

Not bad. Information technology rarely is a problem - just the time you don't become and be monitored will be the time it's serious. Much better to get reassured.

Hi dids.
If it makes y'all feel any better, my friend is a Dr in a maternity unit of measurement and he had his wife monitored all day every day when she was in the subsequently stages of pregnancy cos baby was small. See, even Dr'southward get concerned also

I heard that about 36 weeks they start to become newborn blazon patterns of sleep, so they may seem a lot less active all of a sudden.
Ledodgy Thu 13-Dec-07 20:04:15
Oh God don't say that peanut i'1000 37 weeks and this infant doesn't stop wriggling am I destined for a non-sleeping newborn?
didsnbump Thu 13-Dec-07 xx:06:36
Well picayune one is back to his/her usuall moving around like mad today.
I must say though im getting lots of periods pains now though. They dont have a pattern actually but they are getting stronger and lasting longer when i do become them. God i hope this means he/she is on there style?

I found that my daughter moved a lot less just earlier she was born. Maybe it does mean you are on your way! Hope so - good luck.
